WHO YOU WILL HELP

American Women unaware of the risk factors

Ovarian cancer is the only gynecologic cancer without a dedicated screening test. This leads to cases going overlooked for years which drastically reduces the woman's chance for survival. If ovarian cancer is caught in its earliest stages, the 5-year survival rate is 93%.

Our goal is to support lawmakers who sponsor legislation that back fair insurance practices, funding for cutting-edge lifesaving drugs, and reproductive support legislation such as egg freezing.

Through your generous financial support, we can continue to raise awareness and make positive, lasting changes that will increase the survival rate of women diagnosed with this awful disease.

You Can Help Renew Funding for Public Outreach

How we make change happen

The United Women's Health Alliance works to elect leaders who will fight for laws that raise awareness and educate the most at-risk groups of women who are susceptible to ovarian cancer. Specifically, we are supporting lawmakers who sponsor HR 4412 To Reauthorize Johanna's Law (Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act). This bill would amend the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize and enhance Johanna's Law. This includes a national awareness outreach campaign, authorization of funding of $45 million through 2022, and provides resources for the development of coordinated outreach campaigns by nonprofit organizations.

On behalf of Ovarian Cancer patients, we rely on your generous financial support. Together, we are working to elect strong and caring leaders who understand the importance of reauthorizing Johanna's Law.
